Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for AA membership;
we are self-supporting through our own contributions. AA is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organisation or institution; does not wish to engage in any controversy, neither endorses nor opposes any causes. Our primary purpose is to stay sober and help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety.

The English Speaking Group in Gothenburg has members from many nationalities from across the world comprised of multipe faiths and outlooks on life, we have one commonality, a desire to stop drinking!
Stop by for fellowship, we always love visitors!
All our meetings are 'Open' format which means we welcome anyone with an interest in knowing more about Alcoholics Anonymous.
You are always welcome to share in Swedish or English. Most of the meeting is usually in English.
**Venue is open, meeting face to face as normal along with online audio only meetings. We practice social distancing by spreading out in the room**
YPAA stands for Young People in Alcoholics Anonymous. By this we mean someone who has become an alcoholic or someone who has gotten sober at an early age, or an alcoholic who is young at heart. We think that any members of AA, who are willing to grow in their sobriety, are young alcoholics.
We choose a book from the AA literature and take turns reading out loud, sharing our experience, strength and hope. Depending on the group conscience we might choose to read from either the Big Book, 12 & 12, Living Sober or any other books we currently keep in our inventory.
At the beginning of the meeting we spend 20-30 minutes with guided and silent meditation. You don't have to be experienced with meditation to join in.

Directions:
Grönsakstorget is the nearest tramstop to St. Andrew's - from the central station you can take trams 1, 9 or 11, walk up Södra Larmgatan, then turn left into Hvidfeltsplatsen and the church is on your left.
Trams 6 , 9 and 11 stop at the Hagakyrkan stop, and from Hagakyrkan, walk north over Rosenlundsbro, keep straight on, and the church is 200 m on your right. Wheelchair access.
